2026 AADA & AHA appoints acclaimed architect and educator JENCHIEH HUNG to International Jury

The Organizing Committee for the Asia Architecture Design Awards (AADA) and the Asia Hospitality Awards (AHA) 2026 is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Jenchieh Hung, a distinguished architect, artist, and educator, to the 2026 International Jury Panel.
As the Principal Architect of the award-winning firm, Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida Songkittipakdee / HAS design and research, commonly known as HAS design and research, and a leading voice in contemporary Asian architecture, Mr. Jenchieh Hung’s addition strengthens the shared mission of AADA & AHA — to recognize visionary projects that harmonize design excellence, local identity, and meaningful human experiences across both architecture and hospitality.

A Visionary Voice in Contemporary Architecture
Jenchieh Hung is widely recognized as one of Thailand and Asia’s most distinctive architectural voices. He founded Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida Songkittipakdee / HAS design and research, a Bangkok-based practice that resists fleeting aesthetic trends in favor of architecture rooted in material innovation and ecological consciousness. Under his leadership, the firm has emerged as a critical contributor to the architectural landscape of Southeast Asia.
His portfolio includes internationally recognized projects such as the Museum of Modern Aluminum Thailand, Forest Villa, The Glade Bookstore, and Casa de Zanotta. These works are celebrated for crafting emotional spatial narratives that intertwine history and culture, and renowned for his international award-winning work and outstanding education dedication, Jenchieh Hung was appointed as a Lifetime Honorary Professor by Kunming University of Science and Technology. Moreover, he was invited to be a Guest Editor for the Journal of the Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA Journal), consolidating his influence in the field of global architecture.
Global Leadership and Academic Excellence
Beyond his practice, Mr. Jenchieh Hung is a prolific educator and curator. He currently serves in esteemed academic positions at several world-class institutions, including:
- Visiting Professor at Tongji University (World's Top 11th Architecture University).
- Visiting Professor at Chulalongkorn University (Thailand’s No. 1 Architecture University).
- Adjunct/Visiting Professor at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
- Adjunct Professor at Donghua University
- Adjunct Professor at World University of Design.
In 2023, he was appointed Exhibition Chairman and Principal Curator by The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA), where he curated landmark exhibitions such as the Infinity Ground Architecture Exhibition at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC). Later, Jenchieh Hung curated the world’s first exhibition dedicated to Asian architects, titled Collective Language: Asian Contemporary Architecture Exhibition, featuring renowned firms such as Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa / SANAA, Vo Trong Nghia Architects, and WOHA, and the exhibition also collaborated with the Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA).
A Legacy of Strategic Evaluation
Mr. Jenchieh Hung brings extensive experience as an international juror, having served on jury panels for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) — RIBA International Awards: Asia Pacific Awards 2025, the International Design Awards™ (IDA) in the USA, and The Association of Siamese Architects (ASA) — ASA Experimental Design Competition Awards in Thailand.
His dedication to the field was recently recognized with the title of Distinguished Professor from Huaqiao University, and he received the Global Sustainable Development Design Achievement Award. Additionally, Jenchieh Hung and his firm, Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida Songkittipakdee / HAS design and research, became the first Thai firm to be selected for the World Architects Directory by Wallpaper* magazine in the United Kingdom, and were featured in the Inspirational Addresses by the Louis Vuitton City Guide Bangkok in France, in recognition of his contributions to academic education and professional practice.
