Sataa Resort Nan reinterprets mountain hospitality through the Northern Thai concept of “Khum” - a home defined by warmth, belonging, and care. Rather than offering a conventional stay, the resort creates an emotionally grounded living experience where guests feel connected to both place and culture.
The design is anchored in a dual courtyard concept. “Khuang Mueang” shapes open, communal spaces that foster interaction with nature and the surrounding landscape, while “Khuang Baan” forms intimate interiors that provide privacy, calm, and a sense of retreat. This spatial layering allows the resort to balance community and solitude within a cohesive architectural narrative.
Blending Lanna heritage with contemporary design, Sataa integrates local materials, craftsmanship, and culinary traditions into a modern hospitality framework. Passive design strategies - including natural ventilation, daylight optimization, and seamless indoor-outdoor transitions - enhance environmental performance while maintaining comfort.
