The Regional Director, Asia Pacific, NOBU Hospitality As Jury Member - AHA & AADA 2026

The Asia Awards Organization (AAO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lee Lin—Regional Director, Asia Pacific at NOBU Hospitality—to the International Jury Panel for the 2026 cycles of both AADA (Asia Architecture & Design Awards) and AHA (Asia Hospitality Awards).

His appointment reinforces AAO’s commitment to rigorous, cross‑disciplinary evaluation—where place‑led ideas, human‑centred experience, and evidence of craft and performance are held to an uncompromising standard.

A Career Shaped by Regional Development Leadership

Based in Bangkok for the past decade, Lee Lin has helped shape luxury hospitality across Asia from concept to delivery. Most recently, as Managing Director at Asset World Corporation (AWC), he oversaw product strategy, concept design, partnerships, and feasibility modelling for 60+ projects. Prior to AWC, he served as Associate Director & Head of Business Development & Design at BLINK Design Group (Thailand), guiding growth and early‑stage concepts for leading luxury developments.

Lee’s earlier career includes five years in China in key roles: Business Director & Designer at Smith Caradoc‑Hodgkins Architects (Kunming), General Manager at MAD Architects (Beijing), and Head of Business Development for Atkins Asia Pacific—experience that grounds his design judgement in real‑world delivery.

An Operating Philosophy: Presence, Feasibility, and Place

Trained as an architect and seasoned as a product strategist, Lee reads projects through two lenses at once: guest presence (how spaces coach calm, clarity, and service) and feasibility (how design choices perform under operational and commercial constraints). The result is a perspective that values architectural clarity, material honesty, and measurable outcomes—principles he will bring to AAO’s dual juries.

What He Brings to AAO’s Dual Panels

For AADA (Architecture & Design):
• Context‑driven originality that serves climate, culture, and circulation
• Craft and build quality guests can feel; materials that age well
• Section‑first thinking—shade, breeze, quiet—before systems
• A clear link between design intent and operational performance

For AHA (Hospitality):
• Composed calm over spectacle—light that reveals without glare, acoustics that protect conversation
• Service that reads as human and repeatable (arrival pacing, night‑mode discipline, recovery logic)
• Evidence over adjectives—review sentiment, time‑to‑calm, ticket reduction, and outcomes that endure

Lee is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.Arch) and later served as Regional Director, Asia Pacific for the Notre Dame Alumni Association. Having studied and worked in Rome, Dubai, Pittsburgh, Durham, Kunming, Taichung, Beijing, and Bangkok, he brings a global perspective finely tuned to Asian contexts.
