In the heart of Bangkok’s bustling Silom district, the Missions Étrangères de Paris (MEP) project stands as a visionary example of architecture that reconciles legacy, spirituality, and sustainability.

More than just a replacement for an aging structure, this new design is a symbol of cultural dialogue - blending the functional essence of Western ecclesiastical architecture with the elegant restraint of traditional Thai forms. Its open, humble composition is not meant to dominate the cityscape, but to welcome it - offering a calm spiritual sanctuary in the midst of urban intensity.

What sets this project apart is its deep-rooted commitment to sustainability from the outset. By involving green consultants early, the team integrated passive design, energy-efficient systems, rainwater harvesting, and reused materials—embedding sustainability into the building’s core.

Its most compelling feature, however, is its dual identity: both rooted and global, sacred and communal. The MEP project reflects a rare harmony between East and West, earning its place among Asia’s most thoughtful conceptual designs.
