Quayside JBCC exemplifies architectural excellence in hospitality by masterfully transforming a once-derelict site in Johor Bahru into a landmark mixed-use development.
As Malaysia’s first dual-brand hospitality co-located project - featuring Hyatt Place and Oakwood serviced residences - it delivers a versatile, world-class guest experience that caters to both short-term business travelers and long-stay visitors. At the heart of its design innovation is the iconic clear-bottom cantilevered infinity pool, offering panoramic views of the Johor-Singapore skyline, instantly becoming a visual and experiential signature of the property.
Beyond aesthetics, Quayside JBCC integrates advanced building technologies, including a dynamic LED façade, regenerative lifts, and energy-efficient systems, exemplifying forward-thinking environmental responsibility. The reuse of original substructure components showcases sustainable ingenuity, while its integration of local heritage - through pepper leaf motifs and design inspired by Tan Hiok Nee’s legacy - cements its cultural relevance.
Public engagement is central to the development’s success, with pedestrian-friendly pathways and JB Piazza fostering community interaction and accessibility.
