Lucid Bar and Lounge is conceived as an exploration of how spatial design can translate the psychological condition of lucid dreaming into a tangible interior experience. Rather than relying on literal or decorative interpretations, the project draws from cinematic techniques used to depict altered perception, including shifts in scale, spatial distortion, and controlled visual intensity. These references are distilled into architectural strategies that shape the atmosphere of the space.
Curved vaulted frames introduce rhythm and soften the rigidity of the interior envelope, while reflective surfaces expand perceived depth and amplify spatial layering. Carefully calibrated lighting enhances contrast and directs focus, creating an environment that feels immersive yet composed.
Within a compact 125-square-meter footprint, the layout is organized around a linear bar and a back-lit stone feature wall, establishing a clear spatial anchor that guides movement and interaction. Seating zones are arranged fluidly around this core, allowing openness without physical partitions.
By working with constraints such as limited space and low ceiling height, the project employs perceptual design strategies, including a mirrored ceiling, to visually expand the interior. Lucid demonstrates how thoughtful spatial manipulation can elevate everyday social environments into refined, experiential settings.
