2026 ASIA’S BEST HOSPITALITY ARCHITECTURE DESIGN - COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT KUALA LUMPUR CITY CENTRE

Project Name: Courtyard by Marriott Kuala Lumpur City Centre
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Company: CTA Architects Sdn Bhd
Designer: CTA Architects Sdn. Bhd.
Manufacturer: Kumpulan Hamzah Kwong Hing Realty Sdn. Bhd.

Courtyard by Marriott Kuala Lumpur City Centre is a transformative adaptive reuse project that redefines contemporary hospitality within the city’s dense urban core. Located near the iconic KL Tower, the project revitalizes the former Pacific Regency Hotel into a modern, 300-room destination aligned with Marriott International standards.

The design is guided by the concept of an “urban sanctuary”, balancing the energy of Kuala Lumpur with moments of calm, clarity, and spatial refinement. A key architectural move is the relocation of the main lobby to Level 15, creating a sky lobby that captures panoramic city views while functioning as a vibrant social hub.

The project emphasizes clean geometry, warm materiality, and a contemporary tropical sensibility, integrating natural light, greenery, and local cultural references into a cohesive spatial experience. Functional planning enhances operational efficiency, while flexible public spaces cater to evolving guest needs.

Through adaptive reuse, technological integration, and context-sensitive design, the hotel contributes to the revitalization of Kuala Lumpur’s hospitality landscape, offering a refined, efficient, and experience-driven environment for both business and leisure travelers.
