2026 ASIA’S BEST HOSPITALITY ARCHITECTURE DESIGN - DUSIT LE PALAIS TU HOA HOTEL

Project Name: Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hotel

Location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Company: Baumschlager Eberle Architekten (BEA)
Designer: Cung Thanh Dat
Manufacturer: Phuc Hung Holdings Construction Jsc
Owner: Leadvisors Capital Group

Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hotel is a culturally rooted hospitality project in Hanoi, inspired by the legacy of Princess Tu Hoa of the Lý Dynasty. Rather than replicating historical forms, the design reinterprets traditional Vietnamese palace architecture through a contemporary lens, extracting spatial principles such as courtyard organization, axial hierarchy, and the balance between solid and void.

At the core of the project is a vertical atrium - a modern transformation of the traditional courtyard - serving as a spatial spine that connects all levels of the building. This feature enhances natural light, visual continuity, and spatial interaction, redefining conventional hotel circulation.

The architecture integrates advanced construction technologies with crafted material expression, including a façade inspired by Vietnamese artisanal techniques. Parametric design strategies are applied to the roof and canopy, translating traditional forms into optimized contemporary geometries.

By merging cultural narrative with modern engineering, the project establishes a new model for Vietnamese hospitality architecture that is both globally relevant and deeply connected to local identity, offering guests an immersive experience of living within culture rather than merely observing it.
