Jiangnan House Yangzhou Guangling is a heritage-led boutique hotel developed as part of an urban renewal initiative in the historic Guangling district of Yangzhou. Designed by B.L.U.E. Architecture Studio, the project carefully integrates preservation and contemporary intervention, transforming a collection of historic structures into a cohesive hospitality experience.

Drawing inspiration from Yangzhou’s classical garden tradition, the design emphasizes spatial fluidity, layering, and the interplay between indoor and outdoor environments. Existing timber buildings, brick structures, and cultural relics are preserved and adaptively reused, while new architectural insertions reinterpret traditional forms through modern materials and techniques.

Natural elements such as courtyards, terraces, and pavilions are reimagined to create a sequence of immersive spaces that encourage reflection and exploration. Locally sourced materials, including recycled bricks, aged wood, and handcrafted finishes, reinforce the project’s connection to place and craftsmanship.

By merging cultural preservation with contemporary design, Jiangnan House establishes a new model for heritage hospitality, offering guests an authentic yet refined experience while contributing to the revitalization of Yangzhou’s historic urban fabric.
