Meghavan is a deeply personal residential project shaped by empathy, longevity, and the emotional realities of its owners - a couple in their 80s. Conceived not as a conventional design exercise but as an intimate dialogue, the project explores how architecture can respond to aging with dignity, warmth, and meaning.

The design unfolds as a pair of twin villas connected through a central garden conceived as a social amphitheatre. This shared outdoor space encourages interaction while preserving privacy, supporting both quiet daily routines and larger family gatherings. The interiors are carefully attuned to the couple’s lifestyle, emphasizing ease of movement, comfort, and a calm, burden-free environment that nurtures physical, mental, and social well-being.

Material choices prioritize durability and low maintenance, with elements such as Burma teakwood and natural limestone ensuring longevity without compromising aesthetic refinement. Modular furniture solutions allow flexibility while maintaining spatial clarity and proportion.

Rather than adhering to a rigid stylistic language, Meghavan evolves organically, balancing vibrancy and tranquility. The project ultimately stands as a testament to design as an act of care - creating a sanctuary that celebrates life, memory, and the enduring beauty of shared experiences.
