Vivo City is Singapore’s largest lifestyle destination mall and a major urban gateway connecting the city to Sentosa and the Singapore Cruise Centre. Designed as more than a retail hub, the development brings together shopping, dining, entertainment, and community experiences within a highly connected waterfront environment, welcoming millions of local and international visitors each year.
As part of its ongoing evolution, Vivo City undertook the transformation of Basement 2 to enhance one of the mall’s busiest arrival and transit zones. The project reimagined an underutilized area into a vibrant dining destination, improving circulation flow while creating a more engaging and comfortable visitor experience. Expanded food and beverage offerings, generous open spaces, contemporary finishes, and integrated greenery encourage exploration and longer stays, reinforcing the mall’s role as a social and leisure destination.
A key innovation of the project is the use of petrified plants, which preserve the appearance of natural greenery without the maintenance demands of living vegetation. This sustainable approach reduces resource consumption while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Through strategic planning, thoughtful design, and continuous reinvestment, the Basement 2 transformation strengthens Vivo City’s position as a dynamic lifestyle destination that balances commercial performance, visitor comfort, and long-term sustainability.
